Cute enough...

A friend went to hear an author speak about her book, Marry Him: The Case for Settling for Mr. Good Enough. She says that women in their twenties don't know what they need in a long-term partner and might be throwing away a really good guy.

I mean, I completely disagree with that, I think people know who they are and what makes them happy just fine in their twenties. And if they don't, should they really be settling down anyway? Maybe I need to read the book before I make any more judgments, but to be honest, the subject matter isn't very interesting to me.

Anyway, the whole reason I wrote this post is because apparently there was a study on what men and women look for in a date that makes them want a second one. Women had over 600 different categories of things they looked for, whereas men's could almost always be put into these three:

1) She has to be cute enough. Not gorgeous, but attractive enough.
2) She can carry on a good conversation.
3) She has to be warm and caring.

I'm a little shaky on number 1, thanks to the recent weight gain, but my biggest reason for not getting dates is obviously number 3. I didn't realize men cared that much about having a warm, caring person. I'm basically a cold-blooded snake. Oh well!

Since when do you care about what a man wants?

Since never, I guess I just didn't realize a warm personality was so important to people.

That sounded weird, I just mean, I thought like funny or up for a good time or intelligent would be more important than warm.

WRONG. Nice trumps those 3 every time.
