Happy New Year!

As much as I love complaining, I'm not going to be one of those people that says, "Thank god 2009 is over, what a horrible year, let's hope 2010 is better," because I actually had a pretty fun 2009. There were some bad parts (which I may detail in another entry) but there were a LOT of good parts, too. Most of them happened in the summer.

I went to the beach like a million times, including once to camp at Assateague Island, where the wild ponies are, and once in a beach house for a whole week in Virginia Beach. I can't get enough of being near the ocean, so I had an amazing time every single trip. I also got to take a long vacation to Missouri to visit Bobbie and back to South Dakota to visit my family and friends there. I had a cookout, Joslyn came to visit, Christina and Christoph came to visit, I rolled the windows down and blared my music every time I drove, I went to the pool, I hiked, I had a great tan, the summer was basically amazing.

I also moved into a new apartment late last spring, which isn't my favorite place to live, but I needed to get out of that old one. My ex-landlady (Porktura) is one of the weirdest, most annoying people I've ever met and four years of dealing with her was more than enough. She was so bossy she used to yell at me for naming my dog Fishface. Like honestly get mad and yell! I'm sorry, but it's not appropriate to yell at your tenants ever, but that was seriously not her business. So glad to be rid of her.

I totally digressed. As usual. How was your 2009? Does anyone have any 2010 resolutions?

I overused the word 'amazing' pretty egregiously in this post. Which begs the question, did I really have such an amazing year or am I just trying to convince myself?

Amazing is a good word. But, Mrs. Ventura is right about the dog's name, it NEEDS to change. (I don't agree with how psycho she is though in your defense) I can't even bring myself to call him it, or fishy, or any of the like. So it's Hopu. Doug's taken to calling him Abu, which I have to admit is pretty cute.
