You can't hide from what's all around you. How is it fair to pretend like this isn't happening or to ignore it? Animals trust us to exist with them on this earth. And our intelligence makes us even more capable of great lengths of humanity and connectedness to them.

Yet somehow we have decided that because we are smarter, we get to kill them for our food. And not just kill them, but make them suffer first. Suffer more horribly than most of us can imagine.

We are better than this.
