At the breaking point

I am thisclose to going vegetarian. What we are doing to animals in order to eat meat is unconscionable. It is really, really hard for me to not eat it, but I'm getting to the point where I can't be a part of this anymore. I'll keep you updated on what I decide (i.e. how strong I'm able to be).

I feel the same way--exactly. I've gone vegetarian for several months at a time (one time even several years! -- but eventually failed). It's really hard. But I agree with you. I want to stop contributing to something I hate so much. You should do it; I'll go along with you.

you may rethink your position if you had a bowl of the beef stew I made last night.

So I guess this means you'll stop drinking milk and eating cheese & eggs too. Good luck with that.

Salatin's farm (Polyface: http://www.polyfacefarms.com) is a couple hours outside DC. It's open to the public; you can drive out there, see the operations and buy humanely raised beef, chicken, pork, and eggs.

There's other ways to buy from them too; there are some Northern VA stores that carry their meats, and they also have buyer's clubs for Alexandria and other NoVA cities where every few weeks they bring fresh stuff to you. See http://www.polyfacefarms.com/taste.aspx for details.

You told me not to say anything and then you tell the world. Weirdo. Anyway, let's get an update on this topic.
