What a gross day

Today is just horrible. I woke up and had a scratchy throat and just knew I shouldn't get out of bed, but I stupidly did. Late, which prompted my boss to say, "Good afternoon," when I walked in. (It was not afternoon, and he was not laughing.) Then I found out that my paycheck was going to be temporarily deducted hundreds of dollars. Like eight hundred of them. I'd let a colleague use my company credit card and the receipts haven't been turned in yet. Maybe I'll get the money back before I leave for Christmas break, MAYBE NOT!

So I just went and ate like 17 pieces of pizza for lunch, and now I feel even worse. My pants are too tight. I have a meeting that will start at 1:15 and continue clear through until 3 or 3:30. I didn't wash my hair and it's ugly. I finished a good book that I didn't want to end. I'm crabby, broke, and looking to pick a fight. I need a nap.

You need to go home and watch a "Tyra." That always brightens my day.

Hope you're having a better day today. If it makes you feel any better (it won't) most of my pants are too tight. For some unknown reason, stocky people have a genetic predisposition to buy trousers that are too snug in the hopes that skipping a few Quarter Pounders w/cheese will do the trick. Of course we never skip the Quarters and even if we did, it wouldn't matter, we'd make it up in onion rings and Tin Roof Sundae ice cream and birthday cake.

I would like to watch a Tyra right now. I miss that show. And eat onion rings.

What book did you read that was so good?

I don't know if you'll like it - it was Cannery Row by John Steinbeck. I didn't want it to end cos it was one of those types of books that just gives a snapshot of some people's lives and I wanted to see what was gonna happen to them next.

Cannery Row is one of my all-time favorite books. And I'm not just saying that to sound cool.
