Think before you drink the Kool-Aid...
First of all, I love this song.
What do you think it's about? When I listen to it, the feeling I get is that you shouldn't blindly trust and worship your leaders. They're people just like you, except maybe slightly more charismatic.
Along those same lines, can someone tell me why people always want to hero-worship? I find it weird, frankly. I don't understand what it is inside of people that makes them constantly on a mission to find a messiah.
I also find the people that need to direct that worship in their direction slightly untrustworthy as well. Why do they need my adoration, why do they feel the need to lead me to salvation? I don't need anyone manipulating me with their stupid quippy gimmicks.

Wow, the ending is powerful.
Maybe the hero worshipping is because it is easier to have answers handed to you than to have to come up with it yourself?!
I'm with you on not following leaders. Bob Dylan said that in Subterranean Homesick Blues as well, so you know it's good stuff. It actually kinda freaks me out when I see people cheering on their dear leader. Be it the leader of political parties, countries or computer companies.
reckon if they were worshipping you and you were manipulating them, you'd have a different view.
Whoops, I never wish to remain anonymous.
I knew it was you from the usage of the word "reckon."
There's a really good book called the Shack...I wanted to suggest it to you. I've been reading your blog for awhile. Someone who I loved died and I just couldn't understand. The book gave me a different understanding. Just a suggestion.
