I refuse to take down my Christmas lights
When my neighbors come home at night, this is what they see:
I've got them on a timer so they're on by the time I get home from work.
For whatever reason, Christmas lights after a certain date REALLY bother some people. Two of my coworkers came in the other day to complain about lights they'd seen up over the weekend, and I was like, "I still have mine up." "Why?! Take them down, Christmas is over!"
Well, no kidding, but the lights make me happy, so they're staying up! And they're not hurting you, so get over it.
Now how can that possibly offend your sensibilities? It's so cute!

I still have my tacky garland hanging in my cubicle and I've been told by more than a few co workers to take it down. I laugh and joke about it but it has yet to come down. I think I'll leave it up till next year. Like you said, who is it hurting?
I still have my Xmas stuff up to but it's only because I keep putting off taking them down. The tree might be a little much, but I don't think there's anything wrong with keeping the lights up.
From a Religious perspective, the Calandar of the Church celebrates the Christmas season until January 13th! Which is the feast of the Baptism of Jesus.
From a secular standpoint, I love the lights and I agree, who is it hurting?
Ginger, I sure do miss the logic you create to excuse your laziness/procrastination :)
