Iced coffee
I have started making my own iced coffees at work. I was getting an iced café americano at Starbucks now and then, but those are $2 a pop. It was not worth it when I have free coffee, free ice, and a freezer at work.
So I come to work, pour myself a big cup of hot coffee, and stick it in the freezer for about 45 minutes. Then I fill a glass with ice, put powdered cream and splenda on it, pour the coffee over that, then dump the whole thing into a container with a lid to shake it all together. Back in the cup and voilĂ ! Free iced coffee. I have a couple every day, it's great.
On another note, I wish SO MUCH that the window in my office opened. I could keep my door closed to not disturb others' air conditioning, and then I'd be able to hear the street sounds, feel the summer heat, climb out onto our little railing area for a stretch, it would be great. When we were staying in the oppressive heat of Rio, I made Maureen let us sleep with one window open (we compromised by leaving the A/C on, too) so I could hear the street sounds in the morning. I just like to know what's going on!
