Birthday party!
As you know, I turned 28 recently, and had SUCH a great time. The Friday before the big day Debra got together a bunch of people for a surprise birthday party for me at Whitlow's on Wilson. I was SO excited and had SO much fun!
My face in a brownie sundae seemed like the perfect way to ring in my 28th year.
Thank you, Victor. Look at my face, I look like I'm about to break into hysterics. I kept it together.
After the eating came the dancing! Whitlows gets a live band in later on, so we proceeded to take over the dance floor. Well, I should be honest, there was no dance floor, we were dancing in front of people's tables and being generally obnoxious. Surprising, I know.
Me and Zakia jammin out.
The band loved that we were dancing, and when they found out it was my birthday, they pulled me up on stage to sing to me!
You can imagine how this ham was eating that up!
We did some more hanging out in our booth, hogged up the aisles and our corner of the bar, and generally had a boisterous time.
Debra helped me with my makeup, right there at the table. It was a good idea at the time, and necessary, too, I think.
We got as many of us as we could into that booth!
Later on, we continued the party at the Big Hunt in DC, before making our way next door to... Cafe Citron. I had more fun than I deserve, thank you so much to Debra for planning it and to everyone for coming, I really couldn't have been happier that night. The next morning in class, however, was a different story!
More photos for your enjoyment:
Cameron, Victor, and Laure plotting to smoosh my face in the cake.
Maureen, Mindy, and me, content at the center of attention.
Gazing adoringly at Chas...
Excuse me, sir, did you forget it was MY DAY?

Actually, I believe that the major face plant into the dessert was caused by Pablo. Victor did the first few near misses, but it Pablo who finished you off. That's why you didn't see it coming:)
Seems like a lot of fun! Sorry that I missed it :(
By the way, really cute shirt you were wearing :)
