MEN! Seriously. Ugh.

I went out dancing with Debra and some of her friends last night at Habana Village in Adams Morgan. I had been there once before like a year ago and did not like it, but this time it was fun. I just wish I knew how to latin dance...

Anyway, I know a lot of Debby's friends, one of whom is a guy called Victor, who has this little snotty Frenchie girlfriend. When I first met him a couple of months ago, she was out of town, and he was kind of flirting, no big deal. That night I had been making loud declarations on how I didn't want to date, I was done with men for the forseeable future, etc. etc. Later on, after I left the party, he'd asked Debra if I didn't like men at all, that is, was I into women now instead? She assured him that I wasn't.

So why last night did he come up to me and the second thing out of his mouth was, "So, can I ask you something personal?" "Well, OK." "Do you like women? I mean, really like them?"

UGH! I was like, "No, Victor, I do not like women in that way." "Are you sure, not even a little, because that would be really hot if you did." Keep in mind his girlfriend is standing about six feet away from us. "No, Victor, not even a little!" "That's too bad..." and he kind of sat there, dejected, for awhile. I guess I ruined some kind of fantasy he'd been harboring.

AAAAAAAGH! This is what I have to deal with! I would join a convent if religion didn't piss me off just as much as men do.
