My birthday was so perfect! Except the part where my car got wrecked.
I had the best birthday party last night. It was so beautiful, a bunch of my friends came with me to Marrakesh restaurant in DC. They have really good Moroccan food and a great atmosphere and everyone who came is so much fun... I just had an absolute blast. The belly dancer even pulled me to the front of the room to dance with her (she tried to drag Tiffany out there but she's like, "No, take Ginger, it's her birthday.") I got a bottle of wine sent over, champagne, drinks, lamb and couscous, I lounged on pillows, had the whole evening be ALL ABOUT ME - paradise. It was seriously just so much fun for me. Thank you so much, Sandy, Jason, Lisa, Moria, Nyk, Vivian, Erin, Tiffany, Taryn, Wyatt, Maureen, Omar, Glendale, Nour, Nabil, Svetlana, and Ruth for making my birthday party absolutely perfect.
Not perfect was on the way home when a Mercedes rear-ended my car going full speed as we sat at a stoplight, sandwiching my car between him and an Infiniti and nearly giving Wyatt a concussion. My rear window is shattered, my rear bumper is smooshed, my hood is crumpled, but by God, I made it to 26 alive and you can't ask for more than that! I'll let you know how the whole car thing goes as the insurance crap goes through. I'm feeling surprisingly cool about the whole thing, maybe cos I'm still so happy about my fun party.

Wow, sounds like I missed a lot of excitement by going home at a mere 1:15AM. But it also sounds like the kind of excitement you'd really rather not have.
That sucks about your car, but at least insurance is involved.
I enjoyed your birthday too, particularly the catty speculations over whether the skanky women two tables over were strippers or "escorts."
Jesus Christ! That sucks. Glad to hear everyone was ok though.
And, to look on the bright side, if you're gonna get hit by somebody you really can't ask for better than to be hit by somebody driving a Mercedes. At least you know they've got the cash to pay for the damages :-)
It really is too bad when I heard about your car yesterday, I hope everything will be taken care of and wrap up soon.
Somehow we lost everyone on the way to the club except for Wyatt and myself. But it was a lot of fun. Good stress relieve for me anyways.

Happy belated birthday!! It sounds like you had a lot a fun. I wish I could have been there (minus the whole car thing of course). Also maybe the reason it doesn't bother you so much is because you are used to car crashes. :)
Yeah, Happy Birthday from me too. So after all the insane driving that you do, your car ends up getting wrecked while you sit at a stoplight. So how does 26 work out for you so far?
