Rent: What a waste of money

Renting just makes me crazy. I mean, I guess it's a good thing if you're not ready to settle down yet, but what a waste of money. You see some people pay and pay and pay, and at the end of it all, they have a house they can sell and travel for their retirement, or buy a nicer house, or anything. And then you see renters, who pay and pay and pay, and at the end of it all, nothing. No house to sell and take the mother of all vacations. Just memories of all that beautiful money, gone. I'm getting a place to live out of the deal I suppose. Even if I don't have A/C, a dishwasher, a washer & dryer in my building, or a bathroom window that doesn't face onto the parking lot and into my neighbors' windows, I do have a place to live. And hey, got some great news today! My rent is going down $5 per month!! Yeah! Now I'll really be able to buy that BMW! One catch. We have to pay all the utilities now, which I suspect the $5 savings doesn't make up for, or why would they switch it?
